Web Content Management as a service

After more than a year of planning and development, we’ve finally launched our SaaS (Software as a Service) product. CentricMinds Hosted is a SaaS CMS solution designed to increase the visibility of our commercial product through providing on-demand access for anyone, anywhere and in multiple languages. We’ve launched in English, Spanish and French with more languages coming online shortly.

You can choose to sign up and evaluate the solution for free, and then choose from a range of paid accounts to build out your site. The paid accounts differ in storage capacity and the number of active content authors. Uniquely, CentricMinds SaaS allows you to build out a corporate Intranet site in the cloud and when you’re ready, choose to download your entire hosted instance to a server of your choice. Typically SaaS solutions only live on servers provided by the vendor. CentricMinds Hosted allows you to check out your SaaS instance and put it anywhere you like.

We chose Amazon Web Services (EC2 and S3) as the platform for CentricMinds Hosted. We’ve answered numerous questions about how we found working with AWS. When our SaaS CMS product initiative began in April 2007, AWS was a little different from how it is today. For example, only recently has AWS offered service level agreements for EC2 environments. Perhaps the most impressive thing about AWS from a SaaS application delivery standpoint is its speed. We’ve tested how the CMS responds from all parts of the world including North America, Australia and China. There was pretty much no latency difference between preliminary testing and go live. Given the scaling capabilities of EC2 and S3, and even with the added support of solutions like Scalr, we don’t see any major issues with CentricMinds meeting even the most demanding web initiatives you or your organization might have.
