CentricMinds Web Content Management (WCM) empowers authors with an intuitive and powerful in-context content creation and publishing environment that has been designed from the ground up to enable non-technical business users to take back control of their web assets. Web Content Management deals with the identification, importing, classification and publishing of content resources for web delivery. Typically Web Content Management deals with unstructured content such as documents, rich media (images, video and audio) as well as text-based content created by authors.
Web Content Authoring
CentricMinds WCM provides both a structured authoring framework based on metadata driven Content Type templates, as well as an un-structured authoring environment based on pre-defined templates that control where authors can place content within a page.
Structured authoring enables website administrators to enforce how content is prepared and published across single or multiple sites. The Role based security model identifies which authors can select from Content Type templates made available to them from web administrators.
The unstructured authoring environment provides an intuitive method that allows non-technical authors to develop pages by choosing from a library of controls (Centric Controls) and dropping them into the page. Controls include Blog, Forms, and RSS Feeds, Media management, Google Gadgets and more. There are more than 100 controls that authors can choose from to add to their pages.
Web Content Management
At the heart of CentricMinds WCM are version controlled content repositories. The File, Media, Text and Page Repositories provide authors with dedicated environments for importing and controlling content in meeting their publishing requirements. Each repository view provides integrated search, category browsing and versioning management over all content resources. Authors can search for content explicitly, browse for content via the metadata category browser and perform functions such as check in, check out, rollback, revert and compare.
